Sakkara and Dahshor Pyramids tour

Description

Ancient Egypt Trip Pick you up from your hotel and drive you to Sakkara, where you will get to visit the mastaba of Mereruka, the largest mastaba in Egypt and one of the most interesting. See the huge statuesque figure of Mereruka emerging from a false door; gaze in awe at the fantastic reliefs, including one that shows ancient Egyptians making wine: grapes being brought in, Egyptian trampling on them, then the wine is removed. After this phenomenal experience, you will then enter the Pyramid of Teti to gaze at the pyramid texts carved on the walls. Few pyramids had any type of internal decoration, but 3 or 4 have been discovered with this type of text, which is composed of spells to aid the Pharaoh into the next life.  finish the visit at Sakkara by visiting the Imhotep museum.
Then  Ancient Egypt Trip staff take you to Dashur, first of all, you will get to visit the Red Pyramid, also known as the Northern Pyramid, believed to have been built by Pharaoh Snefru. It was the world’s first “true” pyramid, meaning it was designed as a smooth-sided structure, not converted from a step pyramid. Access into this pyramid is free, though it does mean negotiating a very steep interior slope: well worth it for the views inside! From here you will be taken the short distance to see Snefru’s famous “Bent Pyramid”, so named due to the change in angle that was forced upon the builders due to the pyramid being built on soft sand, which caused it to start subsiding.
