No matter how many photos or documentaries you have seen, your first glimpse of these marvels of the ancient world will take your breath away. As a qualified Egyptologist, your tour guide can expertly explain the facts and myths behind these three mammoth works of art. Your guide will meet you and escort you, in our air-conditioned vehicle, to the site of Abu Simbel. Situated approximately 285 KLM south of Aswan, including crossing the Tropic of Cancer, these two world-famous temples are amazing. Built by Ramses II in honour of himself and his favourite wife, Nefertari, these rock-cut temples were moved, in 1968, to escape the encroaching waters of the newly formed Lake Nasser. Back to Aswan, Lunch on board and sailing to Kom Ombo Cruise trip starts with the visit of Kom Omb, Temple of Kom Ombo, which is very unusual as it is dedicated to two gods: Sobek and Haroeris. It is built symmetrically, with two entrances, two sanctuaries, and a clear division that separates the temple into one-half Sobek and one-half Haroeris. It is a Ptolemaic temple, built between the reigns of Ptolemy VI and Ptolemy XII with sandstone from the nearby Gebel El Silsila quarries. The forecourt and outer corridor were added during the Roman Period. Return to your cruise boat for dinner as the boat sail towards Edu. overnight in Edfu town

Next, you will visit the smaller, in size but not in spectacle, Luxor Temple. Mainly added to by Ramses II it is now missing one of its obelisks, which can be seen in the Place de la Concorde in Paris: swapped for a clock (in the Mohammed Ali Mosque at Saladin’s Citadel) which has never worked.
